To please or not to please

Can anyone please tell me what happened to those people who were non-believers in the old testament times? I know this sounds absurd, but the non-believers I meant here are those people who never had the chance to know God, e.g, people like our ancestors (aka Chinese people of the olden times say 5000 years ago), people who lived in places which were not mentioned in the bible. And other races that weren't mentioned. It just doesn't sound fair to them since it wasn't their choice not to know God. How how how.

And what about people who did good deeds their whole life who doesn't get a chance to know Jesus vs believers who think they are saved by believing in Christ but were seen stealing stuff from the church (yes this happened in my church) or has always, and still, doing unrightful stuffs. Do both kind of people go to hell or what?

I know that only people who fear God, has Jesus living in their hearts are the Ones. But I just couldn't give a perfect answer to those who always bombard me with questions like the ones above. Maybe coz I don't really question my own beliefs, since they've been with me ever since I remember.

John 14:6 - He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but through me." No one will go to heaven unless they put their faith in God. Even if they done good deeds whole life but they are still a sinner. And sins separate us from God.

In Jeremiah 29: 13 "You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you." This is a promise from God when one seeks after Him. Meaning if one desires to know if there's a God out there, and he want to know so much more, God will let him find Himself. So, for those non believers in ancient times, God has revealed certain truths about Himself through nature or the created order. Psalm 19:1-6 states, “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.Romans 1:18-21 declares, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” According to this text, nature reveals that God exists and that He is powerful. This testimony is so powerful that no person can claim that he or she knows nothing about God.

There are more things regarding this matter and one good website talking about this is http://www.theologicalstudies.org/page/page/1572381.htm
You can try and check it out.

according to nicky gumbel, the founder of the Alpha course, this kind of question is a philosophical question. Someone who asked this question MUST had heard of Jesus before. therefore, the questioner is questioning something that he hasnt experience. it's like Zen, when they ask, what happen if a tree falls in a forest where there's no animal or human at all; so it there a sound produced? there's no definitely answer towards these kind of philosophical question. the Bible is a practical book. and because of that, what matter more is what is the response of the questioner regarding Jesus Christ? God is just, therefore He will definitely be just when judging those who had never heard about Jesus before. we shall leave that worry to God alone. finding the answer won't help those questioner to believe also.

hmmm...yeap i like and understand what u said benny =) thanks a lot eh!
anyway, these are the questions that never came into my mind if people never asked...so when they asked, i was like wao can ask like that one meh. it's like finding fault.

oh btw, i thought there would be a sound whenever a tree falls? It doesn't depend on the existence of human or animals right? hahaha just a 题外话.
