1. It was actually one of the clinic days in the hospital, so there were fewer MOs and HOs attending to the ward than usual.
2. Saw the patient with cervical CA again. Again, a big smile. Made my day. Again.
3. Sometimes, it could be due to our carelessness that patient starts to go into emotional turmoil. Serious case.
4. Respect. No matter where you stand in the hierarchy. Of course especially when you are still at the bottom of the pyramid.
5. Never give any excuses for something that you missed or did wrongly. Especially when its due to carelessness. Learn from it. Sometimes, a lesson might even cause you a life.
6. When MOs scold you or speak to you harsher than usual, it means that they see some hope in you to be as good as them or even better. If they don't even bother to talk to you anymore, gone case la you. ( Disclaimer: This does not apply to students, muahahahaha=P am still a baby for those smart people, so they teach me stuff nicely. And luckily I haven't asked any stupid questions. Yet.)
7. It's not all about seeing rare cases or gaining medical knowlege (yes, only realized after 3 days, dumb me) It's also about the hierarchy. And respect. These things are always there, just that I always take them for granted that they are just there. You need to carefully observe how they work, how to speak to a person who's at a higher level than you. Very important, especially when doctors are creatures with high egos. lol.
All in all, great day! I said its gonna get better day by day =)
